Director Cardiology at Arneja Heart Institute, Dr. Jaspal Arneja is MD (Medicine)1988, and DM (cardiology)1991, from the prestigious Grant Medicine college and JJ hospital, Mumbai. A university topper throughout he has an unsurpassed 10 gold medals to his credit. He has travelled extensively internationally to train himself in his chosen field of interventional cardiology. He has pioneered and developed interventional cardiology in central India. He has an experience of 24 years in cardiology. He has done about 12000 coronary angiographies and more than 5000 coronary angioplasties and stent implantations. He has pioneered the radial route to coronary interventions in central India. He has extensive experience in Balloon Valvulotomies, Pace Maker implants and Cardiac resynchronization therapy in heart failure. He has the largest series of unprotected left main stenting (more than 100 patients) in central India. He has developed AHI as the only centre in Nagpur to have IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound), FFR and Rotablator therapy to assist in complex coronary angioplasties.
During his long and distinguished career as a clinician, researcher and teacher, Dr. Arneja has held several coveted posts and responsibilities. He has trained more than a dozen cardiologist in interventional cardiology in last 10 years. He is past president of Cardiological society of India-Vidarbha Chapter and past president of Diabetic society of India, Nagpur Chapter.
He has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences. He was invited as a faculty at China (CIT – 2009) and Orlando – USA (ACC – 2009). He was invited to deliver a talk on ‘Drug Eluting Balloon – in National Cardiology Conference HANOI, Vietnam in 2011. He has performed “Complex Live Cases” in various national & international cardiology conferences including the prestigious NIC meet 2012 at Kochi.
He is keenly interested in “Prevention of Coronary Artery Disease” & working for awareness in general public on risk factors for Atherosclerosis, including numerous public lectures on various forums.
