Dr Joy M Thomas is the HOD and Director of Cardiology at the Global Hospital and Health City at Chennai.

He did his DM in Cardiology at the GB Pant Hospital in New Delhi after working in the Railway Hospital Cardiology department for 5 years during which he did the first Radiofrequency ablation in Tamilnadu in January 1997.

He did a senior Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology with Dr Masood Akhthar at St Lukes Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and has attended regular sabbaticals at Lahey Clinic and Brighams at Harward, Boston, USA

An interventional Cardiologist with proficiency in Coronary, Peripheral and Carotid interventions, Valvuloplasties and Device closure of Congenital Cardiac Defects (Holes in the Heart) besides Cardiac Electrophysiology procedures such as device implants and radiofrequency ablation for heart Rhythm disorders.
