Dr. Ahlawat is an accomplished Endourologist, Laparoscopic and Robotic surgeon. He is an expert in Endo-urology (PCNL and Ureteroscopy), Advanced Laparoscopic Urology including Urologic Oncology and Renal transplantation with laparoscopic donor Nephrectomy. Over the years he has trained in the UK, USA, Japan including Endourology at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology – University College London Hospitals, London, UK. He has also worked at Washington University Medical Center, St. Louis and at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore, USA. Also observed Uro-Oncology and Pediatric Urology work at Johns Hopkinsbesides Department of Urology, Nagoya University, Nagoya and Chukyo Hospital, Nagoya, Japan. He has the distinctive largest single unit experience in the world of conducting more than 1200 Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomies. At Medanta, he has led successful minimally invasive nephron sparing renal surgery, prostate cancer surgery and bladder cancer surgery programs.
He was awarded the Chakraborty Fellowship by Indian American Urological Association for year 1992 and PN Berry Fellowship in 1995. He was honored with the title of Honorary Lecturer conferred to him by the University College London Hospitals (UCLH), U.K. in 1995 during his stint at Institute of Urology and Nephrology.
